Lucky break!

I guess my filming career isn't over. I thought that when I blew that footage of Dylan, I was cut. I was about to throw my phone cam in the toilet when my boy Malto calls me up to go film some shit for him. I show up at the spot, everything's going good. I did some pivot fakies to get warmed up, and then when Malto was ready to get down, I finished a quick text, then flipped it to video mode, and we got our footage for the day!

I knew this day would come..

and I couldn't be happier that it is here. For most of my life, I've known Bart Jones and he's known me. Everyone who knows him knows how insane he is, so I don't even need to mention it. I knew that he'd make his way into the skate industry as soon as the big timers met him and hung around him enough to see how nuts he can be. I'm glad to see my dreams coming true.

So......

...one time, I was wrong. And another time..... I accused my friend Wes of poaching a video from me and posting it on his blog. I even went so far as to send him an angry text and call him a 'biter' and other unspeakable things. I'm now ashamed of what I said to him, because Wes called me and very cordially informed me that he in fact filmed the video that I accused him of poaching from me. As soon as he said it, I remembered that he did film it and I was an asshole for saying otherwise. So in honor of my second mistake ever (I can't remember what the first one was, probably starting a lifesucking blog) here is Wes on an average day. He didn't know I was filming this, it was on a day that he decided he wasn't going to skate. But when he saw a lonely board sitting up against the fence, he couldn't resist the potential fun to be had!

Listen to the laugh that you hear after the slam.... that is the only sound that Wes knows how to make. Everyone would be better off if they saw the world through Wes' eyes.

Ran into Vlad today while filming a new 'Daily Monkey.'

And he had a new haircut for summer. Not bad.


Not only did he have a new hairdoo, he also had one of the most appropriate tattoos that I've ever seen. Sometimes people just nail it. I'm happy to say that I am somehow a part of Vlad getting this amazingly fitting tattoo.

After months of editing, I finally have my Grombie best trick contest post ready! Chris Milic made something out of nothing and turned a normal night at Tempe park into a warzone!

What I did all day today............

was catch up on these youtube vids. I saw some of these videos a while ago and forgot about them, then rediscovered them today. Ed Templeton is one of my all time hands down favorite skateboarders and people of all time ever hands down! Therefore Toy Machine and all that goes with it is perfect in everyway. I know this sounds grommy but it's just like old barny's talking about whoever they thought was cool and drooling as they do it. Ed Templeton is my Natas, my Gonz, my etc etc etc.

Anyway, these videos are awesome. There are 21 of them I think and they are just digi cam videos of the Toy Machine team skating and playing around. Ed Templeton makes guest appearances and when he does, it's gold. Enjoy. Or don't.

SUPER LAS VEGAS POST

not really. My phone broke so I have no picture taking equipment so therefore I have no pictures to blog! Looks like I'm back to using words.... boring. We're (Davis and I) are on the 27th floor of the Luxor hotel in beautiful (not at all) Las Vegas, Nevada. The view to the outside isn't all that special, but the view from the inside or the lobby at 27 stories up is amazing. It makes me dizzy everytime I look over the edge. (sorry No pictures)

We skated an unfinished, unopen indoor park last night with some local Vegas legends, such as Daryll and Kevin. They brought us to their indoor park and fed us pizza. Not bad at all. Not much else has happened. I don't like Las Vegas very much.

Woodward West spring camp wrap up!

Sorry for the overload of Woodward west spring camp coverage. This will be the final post. I open with a picture of Tyler Goulden showing support for the Nation, even though he lives in California and has almost no affiliation with Dry Bones. Ryan Reyes is in there also, but he opted for a classic thumbs up to show his support. Behind him in the green shirt is Cody King, a little boy who told me probably 300 times that he could kickflip sex change. Yeah right little buddy!

Woodward West

Today was the last day of Spring Camp. We had a long Jump Contest to see who could launch the farthest! This is Ellis and Ethan doing their best Ryan Reyes impression!

But no matter how hard anyone tried, Ryan was not to be outlaunched on his home court!

This video was never supposed to see the light of day, but the real reason that Pat Franklin left my house and went home was because he crossed Ari and got kicked in the fucking face!

So homo! I learned pivot to fakies on this ramp. More specifically, I learned pivot to fakies at about the same spot as those spray paint cans are. That trick is terrifying to try at first, but we get through it. Anyway, the ramp wasn't sky blue when I learned them though, it was still masonite colored with random graffiti all over it. It was painted blue for Steve Davs's 30th? birthday. Fun times were had. I never carved over the rainbow, which is weak sauce. Especially since Tim was doing kickflip wallrides? over it drunk and Ben was doing switch frontside carves over it. I'm a punk, but at least I learned pivot to fakies and then got famous for them! No homo.
